1. No account, no cookies
RealReviews has no accounts and no login — you never give us an email or password. Our website and browser extension set no cookies and do not track you across sites. We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool (Umami) that records only aggregate page visits, never personal identifiers.
2. Information we collect
When you view a hotel or rental listing with the RealReviews browser extension, we collect the property's public identifiers (hotel id, city/zone, guest rating, number of reviews) and the aggregate sentiment our AI derives from its public reviews. We do NOT collect your browsing history beyond the property pages where you actively use the extension, and we do NOT store who viewed which property.
3. How we use your information
Property data is aggregated by zone to build public “best real hotels by area” recommendations and rankings — the core purpose of the product. Aggregated data never identifies you.
4. We do not sell your data
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade personal data or individual browsing activity with third parties. The only use of collected data is our own aggregated, anonymized recommendation pages. Affiliate links on those pages (see below) do not transmit your identity to the affiliate.
5. Affiliate relationships
RealReviews participates in travel affiliate programs (such as car-rental providers). When you click an affiliate link on our site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These links are clearly disclosed next to where they appear. Commissions never influence which hotels rank highest — rankings are computed only from the review data described above.
6. Data retention
Aggregated, anonymized property data is retained indefinitely to power recommendations, as it can no longer be linked to you.
